Sean McMullen is new to the Asheville area, but is no stranger to Western Carolina. Born and raised in Hendersonville, Sean has spent the last 15 years as a chef in the High Country. While attending Appalachian State University for Business and working in local restaurants, he cultivated his love of cooking and Appalachian cuisine. Working in several restaurants in the area, Sean was able to cultivate relationships with local farmers, butchers, artisan sauce producers and brewers. This drove his passion for fermentation and preservation methods, butchery, and old world cuisine.
When not in the kitchen, you can find him on the slopes, foraging, or just hiking with his dog in the mountains he calls home. Sean is excited to be part of the Avenue M crew and can’t wait to contribute his years of experience to the team.
